Researching Cryptids
The Chupacabra
1. Choose from the following list, one Urban Legend or Cryptid. Write its name on your paper.
2. Find three (3) websites about the cryptid you chose. Write these three websites on your paper.
For example, when I search for "Bloody Mary" on Google, I find the following websites:
http://www.halloween-website.com/bloody_mary_stories.htm
I would write "www.halloween-website.com"
http://americanfolklore.net/folklore/2009/10/bloody_mary.html
I would write "www.americanfolklore.net"
http://www.wikihow.com/Play-Bloody-Mary
I would write "www.wikihow.com"
3. Summarize the legend/myth/story of the creature you have chosen in your own words. You must write at least eight complete sentences in order to receive full credit. For every sentence fewer than eight, you will have ten points deducted from your grade for a minimum grade of 30. No work completed will result in a grade of zero points.
4. When you finish, turn your paper in to the front, at the teacher's desk, in a nice, neat stack. Class will not be dismissed until papers are in a NEAT stack.
- Bunyip
- Chupacabra
- The Kraken
- Globster
- Jackalope
- Jersey Devil
- Man-eating Tree
- Mothman
- The Rake
- The Thetis Lake Monster
- Wendigo
- Yeti
